Red guerrillas under the Merardo Arce Command - Southern Mindanao Regional Operations Command of the New People's Army raided the municipal headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Loreto, Agusan del Sur at 2:30 P.M. Two M-16 rifles were seized when operatives of the Ka Paking Guimbaolibot Red Partisan Brigade of the Merardo Arce Command - New People’s Army (MAC-NPA) launched a special tactical operation in Tagum City. Two M16 rifles were taken away by a member of the People's Militia from an unwitting 8th IB trooper in Lantad, Barangay Kibanban in Balingasag town, for the second time. (Report from NDF Cagayan Valley) The AFP once again suffered a heavy blow in a recent tactical offensive by the New People's Army in Jones town. Twenty-three (23) armed troops belonging to the 45th IB and 51st Reconnaisance Company were killed in successive harassment and ambush operations by the NPA's Benito Tesorio Command (BTC). Updated: December 22, 2005 December 14, Leyte - NPA disarms despotic landlord, confiscates 10 assorted firearms. The people rejoiced when an NPA unit under the Mt. Amandewin Command-Leyte Island successfully disarmed a despotic landlord and his goons at about 10:00 in the evening in Sitio Fortuna 1, Barangay Catmon, Tabango town. December 12, Cagayan - NPA sniping operation deals blow on 17th IB RSOT. The NPA's Henry Abraham Command (HAC) successfully launched a sniping operation at 6:10 in the evening versus the 18-man Reengineered Special Operations Team of the 17th IB which was basing in the Barangay Hall of Conig, Gattaran town. December 11, North Central Mindanao - PNP officer ambushed and disarmed by Red fighters. An M16 rifle and ammunition were confiscated from SPO3 Eduardo Pabria, a policeman, in a successful ambush conducted by an NPA team in Barangay Lunao, Gingoog City. December 9, Quezon - More than 5 dead, 7 wounded in 4th misencounter between military forces in Quezon. More than 5 soldiers were killed and 7 others were wounded in a 4th misencounter between elements of the AFP's Philippine Air Force (PAF) and 1st Scout Ranger Company around 3:00 in the afternoon. Four soldiers were instantly killed along the highway of Baragay Mangilag Sur, Candelaria town after PAF forces manning a checkpoint mistook Scout Rangers in camouflage uniforms aboard a van and a car to be NPA members. Red guerrillas under the Alejandro Lanaja Command of the New Peoples Army (NPA) ambushed a 63-man column of the 28th Infantry Battalion conducting military operations at around 5pm in Sitio Kiarong, Brgy. November 30, Camarines Sur - People's support enables NPA's successful sparrow operation vs bemedalled PNP officer. Due to the people's warm support for the revolutionary movement, Red fighters belonging to the Eduardo Olbara Command were able to successfully mete the death penalty on Naga PNP's Explosive Operation Detection Expert and Intelligence Officer SPO3 Casiano Paromog right in the enemy's bulwark in Concepcion Pequena, Naga City. A team of Red fighters from the Lejo Cawilan Command successfully launched a counter-ambush against the Bravo company of the 21st Infantry Battalion in Barangay Ab-abaan, Balbalan. An NPA team launched a harassment operation against operating combat troops of an oversized AFP platoon in Barangay Buyasan, San Mariano town. November 25, Quezon - NPA fighters ambush 74th IB, seize 2 weapons. Two 74th IB elements were killed in an ambush launched by Red fighters belonging to NPA-South Quezon's Maria Theresa de Leon Command in Barangay Mabini, Mulanay town. Red fighters belonging to South Quezon's NPA harassed the 76th IB's Reengineered Special Operations Team in Barangay San Pedro, Lopez town. Two soldiers were killed and a few others were wounded. A team from the NPA's Henry Abraham Command harrased a platoon belonging to the 17th IB PA stationed at Ibulo, Baggao on the night of November 23. The NPA sustained no damages. The Apolonio Mendoza Command (AMC) launched a lightning ambush against 2nd ID elements conducting operations along the boundary of Tiaong and Candelaria at around 5:30 in the afternoon. Not less than three soldiers were immediately killed in the firefight which lasted for only a few minutes. According to statements by military officials of the Southern Luzon Command (Solcom), three soldiers were killed and nine others were wounded when Red fighters ambushed 2nd Infantry Division elements conducting hot pursuit operations against NPA guerrillas at around 5:30 in the afternoon along the boundary of Barangay Lusacan and Barangay Anastacia, Tiaong town. The New People's Army (NPA) successfully ambushed a convoy of 47th IB PA and 1st Scout Ranger Battalion troops at Sitio Simabad, Barangay Mambiranan, Calinog at around 8 pm. A platoon of New People's Army Red fighters raided the PNP Municipal Headquarters in Quezon, Bukidnon without firing a single shot at 6:00 pm. After being deceived that Red fighters were from the AFP's Magdalo group, the police were deceived and disarmed of six M-16 armalite rifles, two .45 caliber pistols, two 9 mm handguns, a .38 caliber revolver and 6 ammunitions vests. A 9-man squad of the Magtanggol Roque Command-NPA ambushed enemy forces aboard a military vehicle in Sitio Balaganun, Barangay Managa, Bansalan, Davao del Sur at 2:15 pm. A team of NPA Red fighters arrested CAFGU member Boy Capiluyan from his house in Barangay Abihod, Ceteel, Davao Oriental. The arrest yielded a .38 caliber pistol, 2 vests with 30 cal. garand and 160 rounds of ammunition, 3 pairs of military boots, a military pack and a cellphone. Without firing a single shot, a squad of the NPA's Rhyme Petalcorin Command raided a PNP/CVO outpost in Barangay Magdum, Tagum City. NDF-Mindanao spokesperson Jorge "Ka Oris" Madlos stated that a 2 military 6x6 truck convoy carrying more or less 20 military personnel suffered damages after the NPA's successful detonation of a command-detonated landmine at 6:30 in the morning in Sitio Sian, Barangay Maharlika, Bislig City. A squad of the NPA's 2nd Pulang Bagani Company disarmed a number of enemy informers in Barangay Binucayan, Laak, this province at around 8:00 pm. A PNP outpost and 58th IB company headquarters were raided and harassed in San Miguel; a 58th IB-CAFGU detachment was raided in Barangay San Pedro, San Miguel; the company headquarters of the 30th IB was harassed in Barangay Mahaba, Cabadbaran; and a 36th IB SOT team was harassed in Barangay Masabong, Bunawan. A squad of the NPA's 1st Pulang Bagani Company disarmed an ex-PNP personnel in Barangay Bangkaan, bordering the center of Paquibato, this city. An M14 rifle was seized in the operation. The NPA's 2nd Pulang Bagani Company was able to transform a defensive into an offensive when it wounded 3 soldiers belonging to the 60th IB in sniping operations conducted at around 12:45 in the afternoon. According to a report from the Regional Operations Command of the Southern Mindanao Region, a two-man NPA unit launched harassment operations in the morning of this date against 60th IB Reengineered Special Operations Team (RSOT) which had just conducted operations in Barangay Datu Dabaw, Laac City. An oversized platoon of the NPA under the Julito Tiro Command attacked with lightning speed the police station of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur at around 7:00 pm. After merely 15 minutes, the Red fighters were able to seize 4 M16s, 3 rifle grenade lauchers, 3 hand grenades, 1 .45 caliber pistol, a shotgun and a VHF radio from the station. The New People's Army (NPA) Front Monterosa Command of Western Mindanao ambushed an army service vehicle belonging to the elite 15th DRC of the 101st Brigade at Sitio Calunod, Bitibot, Sapang Dalaga at around 11:30 in the evening. A 30-man Army CAFGU detachment in Medallo, Sapang Dalaga was harassed for the second time in three months by Red fighters. The detachment, which serves as the main patrol base going towards the boundary of Misamis Occidental and Zamboanga del Norte, was last targeted by the NPA last July 12.
