Rules and Regulations

Warning: The "I Love Filipino.ca Virus" is a virus that roams around the website looking to randomly infect members. If the virus doesn't like you, it will infect you. An infected member will be (temporarily) unable to participate in the forums, send whispers and sign guestbooks. Every new post made by an infected member will contain the words "I love Filipino.ca", hence, the name of the virus. The "I Love Filipino.ca" virus will attack any member that violates any of the following rules:

1. You must be 18 years or older. This means you must be mature enough so act like it.
2. Copyright infringement. Becoming a Filipino.ca member does not constitute a license for obtaining or distributing unauthorized material. Do not use the website if you intend to use it to infringe copyright.
3. Flaming. Personal attacks using defamatory, illegal, abusive, threatening, or harassing materials and images will be deleted without notice and will cost you your account.
4. Stealing other members ideas. Before you post, do a search for a similar topic.
5. Spamming. Posting repetitive nonsense topics and replies will not be tolerated.
6. Promoting. Advertising of other websites, products or services is prohibited outside of the Clasifieds section.
7. Violation of privacy. Any kind of attempt to hack into a member's account is not only prohibited, it's illegal.
8. Do not f*ck with the WebBastard and Moderators. There is no "free speech" in Filipino.ca. Anything you say may be edited and used against you. If you are a jerk you will be treated as such." The WebBastard and Moderators have been around long enough to be the final judge as to what is appropriate for the site.

Code of Ethics

Here are some tips on how to survive Filipino.ca. Follow these simple rules when dealing with the WebBastard, Moderators, and Filipino.ca members:

1. The WebBastard and Moderators may edit or delete any of your posts and images as they see fit without prior warning.
2. Everyone is encouraged to remain anonymous. Do not put your real name, location, etc. unless you feel confident about the members.
3. If you want to unleash your anger towards a member, do so discretely by posting in the Basement forums, or sending him/her a whisper. Do not post your anger in any forum outside of the Basement forums. Even then, you will still risk violating rule # 3 of the Rules and Regulations.
4. Your Whisperbox is personal to you. If a member abuses you through whispers, just block him/her. Do not report such behavior to the WebBastard or Moderators as they will not and cannot look in your Whisperbox and do not want to know what you keep in it.
5. To avoid flame wars, ignore all posts and replies from instigators.
6. Do not take anything personal. This is only a program running on some computer in Oshawa, Canada. There is life outside of Filipino.ca.
7. Filipino.ca is not liable for any effect it has on your life. Members have met new friends, lovers, business partners, and relatives. In some cases, members have met enemies, competitors, and through misuse, have lost their jobs. Use the site in moderation.
