In the past, I was really sketchy about those third-party applications on Facebook.. seeing that they already mess up Friendster as it is. The invitation system has cooled down my animosity somewhat. I have some apps on my page, too... but I have the ones I really want. YAY for choice!

Hmmmmm... Crackbook's running a little slow. Modifications? Server traffic? Or could this possibly lead to a DNS attack?

I actually don't use facebook all that much.. not many wall writings, I'm really bad at replying to messages.. I have a couple poking wars going on, but that's about it. Originally written by AnimeKnight on 2007-05-07 12:20 PM

LOL I know. I was kidding, Lostgirl. I was trying to state that facebook is like a huge, powerful, and emminent movement. :D Yeah, the day facebook goes html is the day I leave it. Mikey Originally written by Mikey_Bustos on 2007-04-25 4:02 AM
Facebook is the Beast prophesized in the Bible. We are all identified and branded by a number.
Mikey
myspace branded us by numbers...until it gave us the option to pick our own *name*
friendster branded us by numbers...until it also gave us the option to pick our own *name*
practically all these connection thingy has "branded" us by numbers...it's just how it works {i think...iunno...i'm not a computer geek}.
the only site i know that didn't brand me as a number is the asianavenue
freakin...even in school, we are all branded with numbers.
what makes you say that Facebook is the "beast prophisized in the Bible"...amongst all the other branding through numbers?
facebook has been around for AGES! i remember when i was still in u.s. {almost 3 yrs ago}, one of my friend there told me to join it...and i can only register if i'm affiliated with the school. i think that was 3 years ago. i think it was still called *thefacebook*...cuz i remember her asking me to write on her wall.
all i can hope for is that facebook doesn't start giving us the option to use html codes and style tags {that's what friendster/myspace is for...lolz}

ooOoOOOO...so it was that same site i was referred to way back. maybe it was originally started 10 years ago, but not *officially* launched as a *connection* site for the public 'til 3 years ago =D my school ...in u.s. also has something like this...well...it was only a forum thing. i think you have to be a student to access it. i think....or was it only for that one class i took. oh man, my memory sucks...lolz! Facebook launched in February 2004 as a social network site for Harvard University. The site allowed users to chat, post photos and comments, as well as connect with fellow students with common interests through online groups.
this is why i dont trust the media...
Facebook has been around for 10 years... and not for Harvard University...

You may have hit the nail on the head, Mikey...
My profile's number suffix is: 503124256.
If you take any three numbers (count those appearing multiple times as one occurence of that number), they'll add up to 6.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...can i be ur sidekick! i wanna rule the world!!! =p

Ewan ko lang Originally written by makulit on 2007-04-25 9:30 AMit's annoying. i keep getting invites and i already tried to sign up twice thru the the link sent on the invitation e-mail, but everytime i sign up i get an error message saying something like, "YOU HAVE TO PUT A LEGITIMATE NAME". WTF??? Originally written by TheFlow on 2007-05-01 4:11 AM
I heard about Facebook a while ago, but now it's become so big and widespread, I can see why it's sometimes coined as "The New Friendster". I get asked all the time to join and get invited almost weekly.
that's like my other-half. she doesn't find it necessary to join. she said she has her friendster and if they REALLY REALLY REALLY want to connect with those people, she'd have done so by now. and if they REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna find her, they can search, and what the hey...i'm there. they know they can find her through me...lolz!
I joined Friendster almost 2 years ago, but I haven't had the success of running into old friends, classmates and all that most people have had. Friendster wasn't exactly user-friendly either, I hated their set-up. Connections were always slow and they had too many problems for it to be worth my while. Personally, those reasons alone kept me from becoming a regular user. Add to that some personal reasons, I've actually had to delete my account. Some people have explained that Facebook is just "that much" better than Friendster. I believe it, it's current explosion speaks for itself. If it truly is that much better and perhaps give me a better success rate, it's still not enough for me to consider signing up. If old friends REALLY want to find me, I'm just a phone call away. I've had the same land-line number since high school and with a quick flip through the white pages, you can find me. It's great to hear others find long lost friends, more power to you. This just isn't for me. *shrugs*

That's another thing that has contributed to the Facebook boom. You can organize your parties there, as well as let your friends know where you want to hang just for the heck of it. Originally written by Mikey_Bustos on 2007-05-02 2:42 PM
Actually, the only avid memory I had was that one of them would invite her boyfriend over and they'd make out on the couch. Mmmmmm! Even as a child I found it quite nice! lol. I've always wondered about them and now I'm sure a reunion is emminent!

Babysitters? Yeah, babysitters are freaky. Most of them get freaky with the man of the house when the wife is not home.

THAT is what sets it apart from Friendster.. the scope is just unbelievable! And yes, for a fledgling program Facebook is surprisingly user-friendly!!! Originally written by Mikey_Bustos on 2007-05-02 12:45 PM
