I am in the market for a Digital Camera. Any suggestions on what is the best one out there in the market right now? Really looking for something convenient and affordable.

Okay, so I need to get my brain going early in the morning so I'll be as simple as possible with the explanation - and this is based on how I understand it.  If a pro sees this then he/she can help expand it.

Macro Photography is, quite simply, close-up photography.  The image projected on the 'film plane' (the area inside any camera where the digital sensor or single frame of film is positioned during exposure) is close to the same size as the subject.  You need a special kind of lens - a macro lens - for this if you are working with a DSLR.  The higher the power of the lens, the more detailed the shot.  This is especially true if the subject is very small, like a fly for example.

A couple of other definitions to note:

SLR (Single Lens Reflex) - a type of camera that uses a semi-automatic mirror system that allows the photographer to see exactly what the photo looks like through the camera's viewfinder.  Point-and-Shoot cameras are the 'regular' type which rely on full auto for its operation, which make them their exact opposite.  Also, the image from this kind of camera may not be exactly what it looks like as well.  Unlike these cameras, SLRs give the photographer control over how the subject will look like because their lenses and flash systems are interchangeable.  Digital versions are known of course as DSLRs

Exposure - the total amount of light allowed to fall on the film frame or sensor during the taking of a photograph

ISO - the measure of a film's sensitivity to light.  The less sensitive to light it is, the lesser the chance of a film being overexposed or underexposed.  In the case of black-and-white film, the ISO value is fairly high so extra care is often exercised in handling it.  For digital cameras, a mechanical sensor replaces photographic film but the same basic concepts apply.

Ok guys with photograpy knowlege, please help me understand some of the terminologies.  I just recently bought a camera, the CANON SD870 IS

Instead of reading which can confuse me because they go into deep detail which loses my interest, I decided to watch revies of cameras in youtube.  I watch the reviews in cnet.com, but their videos are very short and abrupt.

ISO - what the heck is this?  With this particular camera, you can adjust it from 80 to 1600.  They say 80 is better quality, so why would you adjust it to 1600?  Aparently, ISO is one of the features any cameras boasts.

this is the video at youtube.

Mine is a Nikon D60, a digital SLR designed for the consumer who wants to combine top technology with user-friendliness and creative features. The D60 provides a resolution of 10.2 effective megapixels, Nikon’s exclusive EXPEED image-processing concept, in-camera editing functions and a 3-area auto focus system. The camera offers continuous shooting at 3.0 fps, near instant power-up in just 0.19 seconds and high ISO sensitivity, all in a compact, lightweight body with a user-friendly ergonomic design.

I have a nice begginer's camera, my old Canon PowerShot A590 IS.

I'll stick with it for a while until I'm confident with my shots. I'm planning to get a Canon G11 later on. :)

I recently bought a Canon Rebel XSI and its a really good camera for beginners like myself. It has all the features of a point and shoot plus a whole range of controls to unleash your creativity..

Depends on what you're looking to do with the camera.

If you want to get into photography, even as a hobby, then getting an entry level dSLR might interest you.

Otherwise, if you're just planning on taking quick snapshots without having to learn all the terminology and photography concepts, etc., then get a Point-N-Shoot.
