My niece got me hooked on 'Pretty Little Liars' on casttv.com. It's mystery drama about a murder, 4 highschool girls, and a mysterious "big brother/sister" who seems to be running the show and knows who the murderer is. I watched the 7th episode first, liked it, but it didn't really make sense. So I did a weekend marathon and watched the series in sequence from the first episode. Now I'm caught up... and hooked!

Yes, I do love the unbeatable banzuke as well.. I don't get to watch it as much as I used to though. About the only thing I wish is that the events were more geared towards regular people... Like, not everyone takes it upon themselves to learn how to pogostick, or unicycle. I really like the one with the remote controlled helicopters or when you have to balance a stick vertically on your hand and go through a course. The one thing with Mantracker is that it's gotta be re-enacted as well. Like you can't have camera guys running around the forest with their gear keeping up with the prey AND not leaving tracks for Mantracker to find.. I do believe according to wikipedia that a lot is re-shot "for dramatic effect".

I LOVES me some Mantracker. Terry Grant has some uncanny skills! It's also on G4 TechTV for those who have it. Wipeout is awesome! Reminds me of Takeshi's Castle, which Spike TV's MXC blatanly used for footage. On that same note, Unbeatable Banzuke is another Japanese obstacle course-type game show. AFAIK, it's exclusive to G4 only. Their courses are HARD!!

Not sure if I wrote this one before (too lazy to look), but Mantracker. Basically you team up with someone (usually someone you know). You get dropped in the wilderness with a map and a compass, and whatever items you choose to bring with you to survive. You have 36 hours to get from point A on the map to point B. On your trail is Mantracker. He's a search and rescue worker and an expert in tracking. He has nothing but his wits and whatever clues you leave behind to guide him to you. His only hint as to your starting point is a flare that's shot off to indicate the start of the competition. Once the flare goes up, you start running, and he starts making his way to where he thinks the flare originated. Once he finds your starting point, he has to deduce which direction you've gone. Might sound easy, but I'd say he catches at least 75% of the prey he's tracking. This can usually be found on OLN and CityTV. Wipeout. The closest thing North America has to a Japanese game show. It's good to see some people take some hard knocks on the various obstacle courses.

Operation Repo. This is a reality tv show about a family (well, mostly family) who run a repo business and the stories of the various jobs they go out and do. They don't just repossess cars. They repo cars, trucks, motorcycles, planes, yachts, hot air balloons. Obviously 99% of people aren't happy to see these guys and girls show up, and often things turn violent. I would say it takes a special kind of person to do this kind of job, and it is probably one of the most dangerous I can imagine. The ONLY thing I don't like about this show is that it's re-enactments of jobs they've gone out and done (mostly because I assume no one would ever sign the waiver allowing their face to be shown on TV), but for the most part you don't really think about that, because just knowing that someone out there was stupid enough (for example) to run to their car, take off the emergency brake, and throw it in neutral, right before the tow truck tried to hook up to it, thus causing it to roll into a lake is enough.

Watching TV shows are not more worth watching because every thing has positice and negative points if you learn something good then its good to learn,TV shows like shows which are related to the knowledgable things like shows of Discovery channel are too good.

Ghost Whisperer, Legend of the Seeker, How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory are my current faves. Gary Unmarried was a surprise for me last season, but season 2 seems lacking.

I just watched it online tonight. I'm definitely watching out for it next week. :) Originally written by Chubshi on 2009-11-04 9:19 AM I guess it was alright... They had a lot of characters to introduce and stuff, which often means less action more plot... I guess being able to remember the original has put a lot of pressure on this one to be good for me. I was sitting there all night trying to match up new characters with their counterparts in the old series. I hate Scott Wolf, which definitely isn't helping things because it seems he is playing Marc Singer's character right now, and Marc Singer was the main dude in the original series. But they've changed it up enough that it's definitely not a strict remake. Originally written by Chris12 on 2009-11-04 11:08 AM
How was it Dave? If it weren't for my cardio salsa class I would've watched it last night. I'll try to catch it online. Originally written by Chubshi on 2009-11-04 7:09 AM
V..... But just barely right now.... A "re-imagining" of the 1983 mini series that so many of us remember of The Visitors. After one episode with one really cool action sequence (I guess), it's kept me JUST interested enough to keep tuning in.. Next week better knock my socks off. Scott Wolf sucks.

I agree! Me and The Lady were watching it all last Saturday. They had a marathon on. There were lots of episodes where he was really himself - really human. On the other hand, cross himand your bear the full brunt of his wrath (minus popping kneecaps with a Tommy gun of course). As seen in one episode. One of his employees who wanted to do as many things all at once did just that by baking butter tarts using discolored water. The store, hence Buddy, was informed by the city to not use any water for at least three hours due to construction. Dude goes behind his back and tells his assistant to do it anyway. I guess he didn't think someone would snitch on him, because Buddy was livid when he found out. He had the assistant throw away all the tarts and the fool to go fetch clean water elsewhere. As a gesture of kindness, he didn't fire him after all - when any other chef would have already.

The Cake Boss - Shows on A&E I believe... There are other cake shows, but I like the personality of the store owner in this one... Seems like a mafia type guy (with his Italian-American accent), but he's quite the softy. PV has seen a clip of it in which a bride to be doesn't quite care for the cake he makes for her, and on the day before her wedding she trashes it (by putting streams of coloured icing all over it) while he's out of the room talking to some of his employees. He gives her the boot from his store and calls her mother (as she was the one that initially arranged for him to make the cake), and after her crying and pleading for him to make another one he does. He personally delivers it to the bride to show her that he's got a big heart despite the fact that she had trashed his his work, but she refuses to come out and meet him (probably from embarassment).

Dexter - I feel it seemed to have lost a bit of its edge-of-your-seat suspense, but I still watch it. Fringe - I'm just completely drawn by Walter's eccentricities. The Cleaner - Taking one's experiences and skills to help others while making money, that's a dream. The Dr. Oz Show - I was always a fan of his specials on Oprah.
