Frugality is a discipline practiced by many affluent people. Consumers call them "cheap skates". I guess that's why consumers are called "consumers."

Anyway, for those of you who have the slightest taste for frugality, please share your tips. Let me start off.

Instead of paying for cable, I use an areal antenna and download movies from the internet.

Bouncing back from a difficult time of liquidation. Yes, I spent a LOT. And so, that teach me a lesson. No, I save and invest in much needed things such as a home. I recently purchased a condominium along QC. It’s called The Amaryllis.

I save because I want my future be protected. I want to ensure that I have something to keep when all else fails. Frugality isn't such a bad thing. It's like having an emergency fund or a savings net. You don't just buy everything. You buy what's necessary. Just like I who recently purchased a condominium unit in Zinnia Towers owned by DMCI Homes. This would be very helpful to me especially in minimizing long travels. You may want to check the development out in this link: <a href="http://www.dmcihomes.com/zinnia-towers.php">http://www.dmcihomes.com/zinnia-towers.php

Been clipping coupons too especially for diapers

We buy most stuff like groceries, clothes, building materials on sale

We shop around for the best deal we can find. Our kitchen was renovated for less than $2,000. Did the work ourselves (thanks to youtube) and found our cabinets (for free) & countertops/backsplash (no tax) from kijiji.

I bring coffee and lunch to work.

We order vegetable fried rice instead of seafood or meat fried rice.

We cook lugaw para maka-tipid sa rice. hehehe. ;)

I use recyclable bags instead of paying 5 cents.

We stay home almost every weekends.

I look for sales sa grocery. I don't clip coupons dahil lagi kong nakakalimutan.

I make coffee at home every morning for me and my hubby. We often hang dry our laundry. We clip coupons.

I get 2-3 pints of beer and get full off of the beer rather than ordering food.  You get buzzed and full at the same time.  I'm not sure if this counts as being frugal . . .

Don't be hating consumers now I'm a consumer too LOL.

Anyway, I learned a lot about how to be a cheap skate after I moved out of my parents house in my early twenties. There wasn't a lot of money floating around (like it is now). So I learned how to:

- clip coupons for groceries (I save maybe $50 a year)

- air dry my laundry instead of using the dryer (I save maybe $25 a year)

- cook 2 meals every 3 nights instead of 1 meal every night (I save maybe $50 a year)

- take transit instead of driving a car (I save $THOUSANDS a year on gas, insurance, maintenance, and licensing fees)
