Database
Since its invention in 1970, relational databases offer the
ability to access data and reassemble it in may
different ways without having to reorganize the define
tables. Databases are at the heart of any application that
serves data. If you need a web application that does any of
this, you will need database. Examples: online store,
directory, members list, news and announcements, accounting,
and more.
Directory If you sell
many items, it makes sense to put these items in a database
and present them in a directory format. This add-on is
useful for companies that sell many items. I can create a
custom directory that you can manage in an administrator
section of the web site so that you can add, edit, or delete
items by yourself. Fields can include the product name,
product code, price, even an item photo. There are many uses
for a directory in your web site. Other applications for a
directory would be for a telephone directory, officers
directory, company directory, etc. Dynamic
Content Manageable dynamic content allows you to
add, edit, or delete any type of content on your web site
without contacting me. For example, if you had a weekly
special posted in the front page. You can enter the special
administrator section of the web site to change your
featured items by yourself, and the change takes effect
immediately. This featured item can be posted right in your
front page for all users to see right away. Other uses for
this functionality are for: Items for Sale, Special of the
Month, Announcements, News, Events, etc.
Guest Book If your site
requires a guest book where users can enter feedback or
comments about your site or service, you need a guest book.
This add on is particularly useful to evaluate the quality
of your service based on customer feedback. Information
Collection
This is a form much like a mail form. It allows your
users to fill out a form with their information, but that
information will be stored in a database for you to access
in the administrator section of your web site. This is
particularly useful for gathering statistics information,
feedback, reservations, etc. The database can be exported
for your own purposes if you like. I can also program it so
that it Emails you whenever someone submits new information.
Mail Form
A mail form is a very important functionality to have in
almost any web site. If a user is interested in your product
or service, it allows them to fill in a form with their
information. Upon submission, the server will Email you the
information which may include their name, company name,
Email, telephone or just about anything you want from the
customer. You can then contact the customer at a convenient
time. Uses for this functionality can be for your affiliate
program, information requests, etc.
Search A search feature is
useful for searching content in your site, especially useful
if your web site is huge and contains hundreds of pages. It
will save your users time looking for information that they
may have found on your site when they were there at one time
but could not remember exactly where it was on your site.
Subscription Form
This functionality allows potential clients to sign up to
be included in your mailing list. If you have a monthly
periodical or E-flyer, it is nice to know that the readers
were motivated enough to take the effort in filling in the
form. Email addresses can either be stored in a database, or
emailed to you. You can then add their Email address to your
mailing list of your monthly specials, door crashers,
newsletter, etc.
Themes Mainly for
cosmetic purposes, I can create different "themes"
for your web site. A theme can be a set of fonts and color
combinations that a user can change which will take effect
only on the user's end. This gives the user a feel of
customization of your web site.
User Login and
Registration Use this functionality if you would like
users to register first before they can access specific
information in your web site. This is useful for gathering
